Nestling snugly in the lap of the snow capped peaks of Panchachuli, the Darma valley in Pithoragarh district is endowed with abundant scenic grandeur. 134kms from Pithoragarh and 35kms from Dharchula is the last bus terminal Sobla. From Sonla to Panchaculi Glacier is a 40kms trek. The route to the glacier abounds in exotic scenery, anowcapped mountains,, gushing streams, alpine meadows and a rich variety of flora and fauna. And from the glacier one can see the Panchachuli peaks in their towering Glory. Ensconced by the river Dhauli Ganga, Sobla is the entry point of the Darma valley.
In Sobla the trekkers put on their rucksacks and get ready for the vigorous journey ahead. Here onwards it's a 35-40kms trek that passes through Dar, Bungling, Sela, Nagling, Baaling and Duktu/ Dantu village in the Darma Valley before reaching the Panchaculi glacier. On the final lap of the village Duktu/ Dantu one gets the majestic spectacle of Panchachuli that derives its name from the five peaks, named after the legendry Pandavas. The 5kms length and width of glacier projects out from this range of hill. A trek of about 4kms from village Duktu/ Dantu leads to the base of this glacier. The glacier is seen from Duktu/ Dantu villages as well as from the starting point of the Yuli River situated 4kms at the base of Panchachuli. The five peaks of Panchachuli creates the unforgettable specter of Himkhand. Yuli river skirted by the jungle of Deodar and Bhoj patra and vast meadows.

DAY 1 : Katgodam to Dharchula Drive 300 kms (via Bhimtal, Almora, Berinag, Didihat etc). Arrival at Dharchula and overnight stay
Day 2: Dharchula to Dar Drive 35 kms. Dar to Uthing Trek 08 kms.
We will take a short but exciting drive to Dar via Sobla & Tawaghat and from Dar trek up to Urthing (Gradual trek) & over night stay at Uthing
Day 3: Urthing to Baaling. Trek 13 kms. Start trek from Urthing to Baaling
(First 03 kms is gradual then 05 kms gradual up hill then 05 kms. is gradual trek). Arrival at Baaling & over night stay.
Day 4 : Baaling to Duktu (3048 mts) Trek 10 kms
We will trek up to Duktu and Dantu. These are two adjacent villages which are the last centers of human habitation in this part of Darma valley. The view of the Panch Chuli peaks from here is just magnificent. You can find a huge meadow in the outskirts of Duktu. One can see the magnificent view of Panch Chuli glacier with the backdrop of the Panch Chuli peaks. over night stayat Duktu.
Day 5: Duktu to Panchachuli to Duktu Trek 06 kms
We will trek up to Pancha Chuli glacier. The day is memorable to explore the Panch Chuli glacier from our base camp at Duktu. The glacier projects outwards from the East face of Panch Chuli and a 4 kms. The place itself provides an incredible scenery of a sprawling meadow bordered by tall oak and birch trees with the Panchachuli (6904 mts./22652 ft.) looming in the background. After exploring the area trek back to base camp at Duktu. Dinner & over night stay.
Day 6: Duktu to Nagling (2743 mts) Trek 14 kms
After breakfast trek back to Nagling. From Duktu to Nagling. Nagling is a nice place. Dinner & over night stay
Day 7: Nagling to Urthing Trek 09 kms
This is the last day of our walking. We arrive at Urthing by noon. From here we get on to a waiting jeep that drives us back to Urthing for over night stay
Day 8: Trek from Urthing to Dar Trek 08 kms. After reaching Dar drive to to Dharchula. Drive 35 kms. Arrival at Dharchula, Over night stay
Day 9: Dharchula to Kathgodam. Drive 300 kms. Drop at Katgodam
